It made for a good laugh in church last night and, as Brother Don said, we needed a laugh.
We have been studying in Ephesians for the past couple of months and have made it to the last chapter and the armor of God.
As Paul wraps up the armor, he says this, pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Eph 6:18
“At all times and on every occasion,” I repeated!
Ashley spoke up first, “Like in Brookshire Brothers”, which is a local grocery chain.
Evidently several years ago Kathy had met Ashley and prayed with her in the middle of the store.
It’s something she needed and has always remembered.
“I remember grabbing a lady in Lowery’s store in Etoile!” I replied.
Don spoke up and wanted to know what I did to the lady.
It was then that I realized what I had said. I may have turned a bit red but I quickly rebounded and explained that I had prayed with her.
Not only did we need a good laugh, we need this encouragement from God’s word about prayer!
To me, a main emphasis is on staying alert and being persistent.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Pray for our country.
Pray for the church!
I understand praying in Brookshire Bros. I met an angel in there one time. for real
