It’s Simple!

oncorFor the past two mornings I’ve faced problems with both of my radio transmitters.

First it was ice, not a real problem since the transmitter did just what it was suppose to – automatically fold back the power to keep from damaging the circuitry.
But then both transmitters shut down and I struggled with getting either back on-the-air.
I had to call my engineering experts in Tyler, a 2-hour drive.
The engineer made the trip. It took a few hours but he had both radio stations back on the air.

Then sometime during the early morning hours both shut down again.
I awakened to the thought that, once again, I would be stopping by the transmitter building and working.

It took about 20 minutes and both were back on-air.
Then it took 10 minutes for both to shut down again – at the same time!
I found that a bit curious. I would get them back running and within a few minutes both would turn off again.
The only thing each transmitter has in common is electrical, though each is has its own breaker box and on two different service meters.

I made a call to the electric utility company and within a half hour a technician was on-site. He immediately saw a problem up by the transformers.
Less than 30 minutes later it was repaired and both transmitters flawlessly restarted.

The majority of the problems this week were something as simple as a bad electrical connector. I over thought the entire process and concentrated on the individual transmitter problems.

There are many other times I over think and waste time instead of just doing what is easy and simple.

Salvation is like that for some. They are determined to think through the salvation process rather than simply accepting Jesus as Savior along with the grace, forgiveness, and eternal life that He offers.
It is written the teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. Ps 119:130
God’s salvation is not a difficult concept. It is we who make it hard.

  1. That is a great insight Pastor Tim: The believer’s version of the KISS principle – Keep It simple Saints. “we have met the enemy, and they is us”. Stand up for Jesus, don’t let your educated mind stand in the way of seeing Jesus.
