I went to a gun show over the weekend, looking for a specific pistol or a concealed carry holster.
I did a sweep of the whole place, looking at guns mostly.
Then I came upon a vendor that was demonstrating a concealed holster. I liked the way it looked and its functionality.
I struck up a conversation with one of the guys and found out he was the developer of this holster.
He told me his story.
It seems back in 1991 he was running a bit late for lunch with some friends, who were already at the restaurant – Luby’s.
You may recognize the year and the place.
Before he could arrive a man drove his truck through the front door of the restaurant and began shooting at random.
One of his friends, Suzanna, reached for her purse to get her .38 revolver only to realize she had left it in the car. She watched helplessly as her dad and mom were both killed.
When Steve arrived it was all but over.
From that time on he was determined to carry a gun but he struggled with finding a practical and comfortable way to conceal and carry it.
So he developed his own. He took a bad situation and turned it around to help many others.
Life can sometimes knock you down.
What are you going to do when that happens?
Jehoshaphat was kicked in the teeth when a mighty army was marching against him.
But he was told, “Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chron 20:15
Then the Assyrian’s show up on the door step of Jerusalem in the days of King Hezekiah. The people had already heard of the brutality of this invader.
The king spoke to the people and said, “Be strong and courageous! Don’t be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side! He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.” 2 Chron 32:7-8
There are many others that were knocked down and only got back up with the Lord’s help.
Next time your down and out, call on the Lord. He is the one that can give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; Isa 61:3
we must look at salvation the same way, we have to think on the same terms as the man in your story. What can we do to prevent others from going to Hell?

Such realities, stories, fit the time we are living in. God is the same yesterday, today, & forever! God allowed the evil to rage amoungest His people. And He told them to not fear, don’t be discouraged. Evil people hear the Word too, but chose it not. And it was the believers that were saved. Today, God says don’t be afraid, discouraged, don’t let the world get you down. Our God is! Our God will! In His time, so don’t be fearful.
