Window of Opportunity

comet1Tuesday evening – nada! No picture of Comet Pan-Starrs. A cloud bank in the wrong place obscured my vision.

Yesterday evening – success.

My son-in-law and I drove maybe a ½ mile from their house in Corinth to an apartment complex with a large parking lot beside it.
Though there was plenty of light pollution, it didn’t stop me from photographing the comet.

The window of opportunity was very narrow. About 45 minutes after sunset I finally caught a naked-eye glimpse of it. A 10 second exposure with my camera confirmed that it was the comet.

Within about 15 minutes I could no longer see it.

Several years ago I missed an opportunity to photograph a comet. It was a Wednesday evening and I had praise band practice at church.
When my wife arrived, she told me of seeing a very bright object in the evening sky. I told her it was a comet.
The next evening it was cloudy and it remained that way for the next week. By the time it cleared up the comet was gone.

Each day you have the opportunity to share yourself with someone else; to share what Jesus has done for you.
Sometimes you may think “Oh, I’m too busy today. I’ll do that tomorrow” and tomorrows opportunity never comes.
Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph 5:16-20

Don’t miss your window of opportunity.
