The High Price.

high prices copyI guess you have notice how much it cost to go grocery and necessity shopping. It’s almost impossible for us to get out of the grocery store for less than $200 a week on average.
Now we don’t go every week; sometimes it’s two weeks before we go and it may be almost $400 to check out.

Last week I took my family on a trip up to the Dallas area and I was looking forward to lower gas prices. Over the past few years of traveling there I have noticed that gas prices can be as much as ten cents cheaper than where I live.
Not this time.

Linda and I enjoy Kraft Spaghetti. All we have to add is a 6 oz. can of tomato paste for the sauce.
Last night I made us a batch and noticed that, though the price hasn’t changed, the contents have. The spaghetti is 75% as long as it use to be. Along with a small Totino’s pizza we each had enough to eat.

It seems that the price of everything continues to escalate or the size continues to get smaller.
But in the eyes of God, your price has not changed.

Jesus said, “What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matt 10:29-31
There are many worldy temptations that will try to buy your time and loyalty away from God.

Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Cor 6:18-20

Don’t be caught up by the power, the glitz, and the bling-bling of this life. It will consume you. It will trap you. It will lead you to believe it is worth more than the price of salvation that God has paid for YOU!

God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world. 1 Cor 7:23

  1. I have, in the past been backslid and out out God’s will. I tell you, from personal experience, that NONE of us are immune to the traps that Satan sets for us.
We must all stay in the Word and keep praying every day to escape the devil’s traps.
