Any Age!

serving GodWhen Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—’God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life.” Gen 17:1

What is a good age to start serving God?
Any age!

Abram (Abraham) was ninety-nine, though he was already serving God; He was renewing the covenant.
Moses was eighty.
My great grandfather was near ninety!
I was almost eighteen when I accepted Jesus as my Savior.
I’ve known children in single digits to accept the Lord.

Even though I was almost eighteen, that doesn’t mean I always lived a pleasing life for God.
I certainly cannot claim a blameless life and full faithfulness.

The age is not really that important; though I am glad I was young. This gave me more opportunity to study and learn the Bible. It has given me time to pastor, teach, and praise and worship.

Here it is almost 40 years later and I am still learning from my Lord. He is not through with me! I praise God for that.

I admire the youth that I pastor. They are starting much like I did – in a group of other young Christians striving to learn and do better.
No matter what age you are you need to be with others so you can strive and learn to do better too!

  1. I ran from God until I was in my mid 20’s but even being born again does not guarantee always serving and living for Him. I am so thankful for His lovingkindness, His mercies are, indeed, new every morning.
