Fullest Potential – Salvation

POTENTIAL SALVATIONDo you want to be the best Christian you can?
Is your desire to live a fulfilling life for God?
Do you want to reach your fullest potential in Christ?

If you said, “Yes, yes, yes” then the news is the Bible reveals how and the example of it is found in Jesus.

It all starts with salvation. Now this is something that Jesus did not need but still gives an example.

A man named John showed up on the scene and proclaimed, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” Matt 3:2

A great message that’s easy to preach and easy to follow; and John had some great results with it.

Then he said, “I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God.” Matt 3:11
And so he did. Many came out and was baptized by John.

But one day Jesus shows up.

Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John.
But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said, “so why are you coming to me?”
But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him. Matt 3:13-15

Jesus did not need to repent.
Jesus did not need to be baptized.
Yet He did it.
He is the example of how it all begins.

Now Jesus did not need to repent or be baptized – but I did!
My sins were many and God forgave them through what Jesus has done for me.

Most of the time I simply look at the cross and say that’s what He did for me – He died for my sins. But now I see He was also baptized for me.

He is giving an example of how to live to your fullest potential for God.
And it starts with salvation!

You can ask God to forgive you right now! You can invite Jesus into your life right now. It will happen right now.
You cannot go any further in a relationship with Father until you do so!
Do so right now!

You can pray and ask Jesus into your life.

I prayed on January 15, 1975 and my prayer was something like this: Father God, I am a sinner. I have done a lot of things that I am ashamed of. Please forgive me. I know Jesus came and died so that I can be forgiven and have eternal life. Please take away my sin. I want Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I invite Jesus into my heart and life. And I pray and ask You this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

And on January 15, 1975 God forgave me! YES&AMEN

Next time I will continue in Matthew chapter 4 and look at reaching your fullest potential in Christ.
