Rid yourself of the attitude, not the competition.

Gen 4:6-7 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

Cain had a bad attitude all because his brother’s offering was accepted and his wasn’t.

There are two things you can do when someone performs a little better.

  1. You can sulk, pout, and get angry!
  2. You can strive to do better!

Cain chose option 1.
That bad decision coupled with his bad attitude led him not to improve himself but to permanently eliminate his competition.

God spoke the truth – He always does.
If you do well; if you change your attitude, you will do well and be accepted.
If you ignore that advice, then sin is your only option and it will rule the day!

Change your attitude and change yourself by walking and increasing your faith the Lord.

Abba Father, I realize the times my attitude is off. I am so critical of others rather than looking at my own shortcomings and seeking to improve! Forgive me and help me, through the Holy Spirit, to overcome myself! In Jesus’ name, YES&AMEN
