What's that smell?

My daughter has a habit of getting those little air fresheners and fastening them to the air-conditioning vent in the van.
I find the smell very overwhelming and I usually rip it off the vent and toss it in the carryall tray.
The next time she gets in the van, she puts it right back.
She claims it really smells good to her. That’s the difference between us.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love the smell of roses and fresh cut grass. The smell of pine’s on the wind or a vine ripen tomato is pleasing to me. I like the smell of cinnamon; turkey and dressing coming from the oven on Thanksgiving morning.
Smells, fragrances, and odors are a part of everyone’s life.

Perhaps some people don’t like smelling the same things I like. That’s the difference between people.
It’s also a difference between Christians and non-Christians.

For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. 2 Cor 2:15-16

Many people think Christians stink! They think we’re intolerant. Well, we are and if you read your Bible Jesus was also intolerant when it came to sin. He told people not to practice it any more.
The apostle’s in their writings also were intolerant.
Intolerance stinks but it’s also necessary or anything goes.

To the world the teachings of Christ is not a good smell. To those that know Jesus as Savior it is a sweet, sweet fragrance.
