And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed. Acts 19:18-20
What’s in your bookshelf?
The Ephesian’s had books on magic and once they accepted Jesus as Savior, they rid themselves of the books.
I once had a collection of records from all kinds of groups. It was that Columbia record deal where you could get ten albums for like ninety-nine cents. Then you’re on the hook to buy more albums for a certain period of time. It’s really not a good deal.
One day I was reading the album titles and lyrics and it dawned on me how ungodly most of it was.
So I frisbee’d the records into a wood pile.
What can you rid out of your life because Christ is now in your life? And what things are in your life that tend to crowd Christ out?
Get rid of it and see the word of the Lord grow mightily in your life.
