The High Point Of Our Vacation (Literally)
The first view of Enchanted Rock while going north on HWY 965
Rising up from the ground just north of
Fredericksburg is a huge, pink granite exfoliation dome.
It covers 640 acres and rises up 425 feet above ground, 1825 feet above sea level.

Vacaching Day 4
Marble Falls named for this granite (marble) mountain and quarry on the edge of town.
We left Marble Falls pretty early, opting to not eat the complimentary continental and almost gone breakfast.
A sonic toaster sandwich did us instead.
This was a pretty uneventful day and certainly couldn’t compare to day-3 and the E-rock climb and shortcut series.
Still we had fun.

Vacaching Day 3
A mixture of wildflowers
I’ll start out by saying we did 65 caches and 2 series on Wednesday.
Highlights of the day were several old school houses. We actually made it inside one of them to sign the logbook.
We also drove a 20mile back road series that was recommended for 4×4’s. Continue reading

Day 2 of our Vacaching was a blast, at least for us.
We got a late start (for cachers) leaving the hotel around 8am.

Vacation Day 1
A country road outside of Crockett.
We left home at 7am on Monday and made the 5 hour drive in just about 9 hours.
Of course, we like to cache all the way, hence we call this a vacaching.
ConGraduations
Friday evening found us at the Broaddus High School gym for senior graduation.
I don’t believe I have seen the place that full of people for a graduation.
I watched as tears streamed down the face of parents and a few of the seniors. Continue reading
