Last time I discussed the news of the engagement of NBA player Kris Humphries to Reality star Kim Kardashian.
Mind you, I have no problem if they want to get married; that’s their business.
However, will the marriage last? Continue reading
Morning Thought with Pastor Tim
Will This Marriage Work
Though I’m not given over to tabloid style sensationalism, I recently heard some news that perked my ears.
I haven’t watched any of the reality show but I know of the Kardashian’s; Kim in particular. Continue reading
Predictably Unpredictable
As the thunderstorm approached from the southeast, I stepped outside to observe the conditions.
Lightning began to streak to the ground.
I saw this as a photo-op, so I got my camera and tripod and set up to shoot.
Lightning is predictably unpredictable! Continue reading
The Hypocrisy Of It All
Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD, so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, He also has forsaken you.'” Continue reading
Good As Gold Isn’t Good Enough
The owner of the motel is of a far-Eastern religion; Hindu or Buddhist, I’m not sure which.
Needless to say, he is a vegetarian and the breakfast menu reflects that.

You’ll Never Know If You Don’t Try
When Linda and I go geocaching, we often run into a mental obstacle.
We have information about the cache including the logs from the last several people that found it.

Read, Read, Read!
Then Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD.” And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. Continue reading
What WOULD Jesus Do?
It’s amazing how so many use God’s word to condone the things they do that may be against God’s word.
I’ve heard people invoke the name of God in many immoral situations.
I’ve heard drug abusers say, “God’s really blessing me!”
I find that ironic. Continue reading
What Is Better Than Knowledge?
There’s a lot of graduating going on!
For us, it’s been the excitement of Braeden’s exodus from kindergarten into the first grade.
Yes, there’s a graduation for that and it includes a cap and gown with a little diploma.
He’s not a baby anymore; he’s a big boy. Continue reading
Prepare For Action
As I was reading in 1 Peter, I was engaged by this passage: therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16 Continue reading
