The Gideon’s annual Pastor’s Appreciation was Saturday night and Linda and I made our pilgrimage!
We always enjoy the banquet; the food, seeing our pastoral friends, and hearing the testimonies of the work of the Gideons.
Listening to the testimonies always encourages me. Continue reading

No Surprise!
Life is full of surprises!
An anniversary or birthday party, a raise in salary, a bouquet of flowers, a marriage proposal, or the sudden death of a loved one.
Last night’s American Idol was a surprise. Continue reading
Are You A Helper?
The pear tree was full of blooms this year and I’ve noticed the small pears on the limbs.
There are a lot of them; it will be a banner year for my pears.
That also means I’ll have to do like last year.
I noticed last spring that the pear population was greater than the limb population meaning more pears than room to hold them. Continue reading
Continued Next Week
I like to watch NCIS, it’s been one of my fav’s for a couple of years now.
So last night was a new episode and it had my gaze fixated on the TV for the whole hour.
Then it had a twist that I wasn’t expecting; I looked at the clock and it was 2 minutes before the hour.

Where Are You?
Last Saturday Linda and I were cleaning up around the house when we came upon a book called Impeachment of the Bible.
I remember finding that book almost 30 years ago when I was looking for something at my grandparent’s house.
It was published in the 1923 and the title says it all. Continue reading
Your Best Effort
Now many people, a very great assembly, gathered at Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month. They arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and they took away all the incense altars and cast them into the Brook Kidron. Continue reading
Disciplinary Action
Do you ever feel like you’re being punished by God for something you’ve done?
I’ll admit I think that at times.
Last night I was, as I call it, deathly sick and 2 thoughts run through my mind; what did I eat or what did I do? Continue reading
