9/11 has come and gone again.
It is a date that is seared in the memory of all who lived through that Tuesday morning in 2001; it is our Pearl Harbor.
The death toll of 3000 can easily be dwarfed by our own holocaust of the unborn. Continue reading
Morning Thought with Pastor Tim
Male And Female Made He Them!
It has to be the most hilarious story that I’ve heard in a while.
A few weeks ago the radio station had an event for pet adoption and awareness at the local animal shelters.
My coworker, Nila, joined me at one and it didn’t take her long till she was holding an adorable little cat named Conner. Continue reading
To Burn Or Not To Burn – That Is The Question!
You may have heard about the pastor in Florida that is having a Koran burning at his church on September 11th.
I can understand the fuel of hate behind this action.
I know how many feel on this anniversary of the attack on America, the falling of the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 crashing in a field in Pennsylania. Continue reading
Bless Yourself
Over the Labor Day weekend, Linda and I went to Beaumont, after church on Sunday.
We thought we’d make a short caching trip out of the extra day off.
While we had fun there was one sad sight that caught our attention. Continue reading
Yom Teruah Is Coming (Again)
Once again we have arrived at the time of year that I expect Jesus to return – Yom Teruah, the Feast of Trumpets.

High School Reunion – The Judge
The name is called out.
Arrayed in cap and gown, a student rises and walks across the platform; a handshake, a diploma, and the changing of the tassel from one side to the other.
Graduation is now complete.
Years of schooling are now behind! Continue reading
High School Reunion – You're Being Accused
In the 4th grade my teacher was Mrs. Flynt.
She was already an elderly lady by the time I showed up with all my classmates.
I liked her okay.
One day she lost it Continue reading
High School Reunion – A, B, C Jesus In Me
I was on a quest at my 35th high school reunion and that was to find out who went through all 12 years with me; beginning with 1st grade at Highlands Elementary.
I could only think of a few and at least 2 would not be at the reunion.
I ran into Albert, a fellow Highlands resident, who did start with me in Mrs. Johnson’s class. Continue reading
High School Reunion – I Don't Remember
Last Saturday evening I had my 35th high school reunion.
I’m wondering where those 35 years went. They came and left so quickly and silently.
I got reacquainted with a lot of old friends and semi-familiar faces.
But at one time in the evening one of the ladies walked by me Continue reading
What Are You Wearing Today?
I overheard this story the other day; the wife was gone and the husband was out working in the yard. It was one of those hot, muggy East Texas days and he became rather thirsty.
He decided to hop in his pickup and ride up to the corner store to get a coke or Gatorade.
He wasn’t gone very long at all; just up the road and back. Continue reading
