On Friday an appliance repairman came to our house to do warranty work on the front-load washer.
This is the 3rd time a repairman has had to work on it and it’s been a different one each time.
This guy was really nice and thorough. Continue reading

Recognize the voice!
Wednesday night finished up a study of Galatians.
The book is about how the church(es) had heard the true Gospel message from Paul and believed it.
Then, as soon as he left, some others came in, added to and changed the message. Continue reading
From lying to laughter!
I couldn’t help but laugh.
Haylee walked into the living room with a bloody paper towel. I asked her, “What happened, baby?”
She said that she fell down and poked herself on something on the floor.
Over the next few minutes she admitted she had poked herself with a kitchen knife while cutting her some summer sausage. Continue reading
Want to be perfect?
You are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matt 5:48
Are you looking to be perfect?
I have the perfect scripture for you that will help you on your way!
Let’s start with this one – James 3:2, If we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. Continue reading
Only a mother’s love
I remember a few years ago I was in San Augustine when I notice a bird’s nest underneath the courthouse pavilion. As I stared at it, wondering what kind of bird had built it; I saw something move from within the nest. I climbed atop a table and gazed into, what I can only describe as, the eyes of the most ugly bird I’ve ever seen. Continue reading
An only (but not lonely) child
I am an only child!
I have no brothers and no sisters but I do have many cousins and there is one in particular that I saw quite often as I was growing up, her name is Donna.
At times we were inseparable as we played or got in trouble. She was just about the closest thing to a big sister that I’ve ever had and perhaps I was a little brother to her because she, too, is an only child. Continue reading
Happy Father’s Day
His preaching will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Mal 4:6
Today’s Morning Thought is a bit different. I was looking through some archives from 2003 and I found a poem I had written for Father’s Day.
Since Father’s Day is this Sunday, I thought I would repost it!
He left the house before I got up and was gone all day long.
At night I waited at the door for him to come back home. Continue reading
Better Definition of Hypocrite
I may have to backtrack on one of my statements from yesterday. I said, “Evidently a hypocrite is someone that calls lots of attention to themselves.”
While that may be true from the scripture out of Matthew chapter 6, it is not true from Matt 7:3-5 Continue reading
Don’t be an excuse…be an example!
A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, “Come, the banquet is ready.” But they all began making excuses.
One said, “I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.”
Another said, “’I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.”’
Another said, “I now have a wife, so I can’t come.” Luke 14:16-20 Continue reading
Archeology
Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day. Josh 4:9 Continue reading
