At that time the Roman emperor, Augustus, decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. (This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.) All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David’s ancient home. Have you ever heard God speaking to you, even through a minister, and felt confused or disturbed?
Sometimes it is difficult to understand what God is trying to say.
Take the case of Mary when Gabriel shows up and says she is highly favored of God.

I think back many years ago and see myself as a young man in church. With me are many friends.
We sing together, study, pray, and learn together. We are in the Christmas plays together, playing volleyball together, and worshipping together.
