Margaret was the special guest speaker at church Wednesday night. It was a powerful sermon about Gideon.
God used this man, who thought he was too insignificant to do anything. Continue reading
Lord
The Truth & Misinformation.
Misinformation has always been a part of life. There have always been rumors and hearsay.
Just this morning I was reading about President Obama’s plans to honor a real American traitor. Continue reading
Born Again.
I was born in 1957 to Otis and Billie Swanson. I have no complaints about my childhood. I was happy – up until the divorce. We weren’t rich but I felt love and never wanted for anything. I had a bed to sleep in, clean clothes, and something to eat. Continue reading
The Liar
A reminder for you today – Satan is a LIAR! He cannot speak the truth, though he is good at making a lie look like the truth. Continue reading
Addictions
I was recently speaking with someone about addictions. There are many, many things that one can be addicted – alcohol, drugs, tobacco products, and food come to mind first. Continue reading
All Paths?
All paths lead to God?
I hear that quite a lot these days, even from some that claim to preach the Gospel of Christ.
Jesus laid claim that He was the way – the only way to the Father and that no one would make it to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) Continue reading
A Do-Over!
On Wednesday I was walking four miles and getting my daily exercise, really pouring on some speed, when I over-flexed my left big toe.
It made it difficult to finish my walk. Continue reading
Get Ready!
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You almost persuade me to become a Christian.” Acts 26:28
Almost carries no weight.
In my lifetime as a minister I have come across people that almost want to get saved.
They do but they don’t.
They like the idea of going to heaven but they aren’t willing to give up their current lifestyle to do it.
It’s like a game of monopoly to them with a “get out of hell” card!
It doesn’t work that way.
Jesus talks about the “almost” believers.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matt 7:21-23
God doesn’t play games. He’s not going to just pat someone on the shoulder and say, “Oh, I’ll let it slide this time!”
The words that Amos told Israel are words that each of us need to heed –
Prepare to meet your God, Amos 4:12
Abba, give me the wisdom to help others prepare to meet You. Eventually, each of us will! In Jesus name, YES&AMEN
Send Me!
Isa 6:8 Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” Continue reading
Build the House
1 Chron 22:6 Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.
