People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord. Prov 19:3
Last night Linda read me a really ignorant Facebook status comparing religion to something that utterly made no sense.
The person that made the comparison is angry at God about the things that have happened in their life. Continue reading

How old are you?
So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died. Gen 5:5
The first time I read that I rubbed my eyes to make sure I was reading it right. I cannot begin to imagine living to be 930 years old. I just had a birthday and it took me 55 years to get to where I am now. Though it has been 55 years it seems to have passed so quickly. Continue reading
Remembering
My dad died almost a year ago. Yesterday I received the news that the only surviving sibling, my Uncle Fridolph, passed away.
He was one of nine children born to Charlie and Victoria Swanson.
I can’t help but be a little saddened as this side of the family has dwindled down to “us” cousins! Continue reading
Avoid a Fatal Accident
On the way home from our anniversary weekend, we were just south of Alto, Tx when I noticed the minivan that had been following me for the past 50 miles decided to speed pass me.
It wasn’t a big deal since we were on a 4-lane with a wide turning median. Continue reading
Birthday!
At last Job spoke, and he cursed the day of his birth. Job 3:1
That’s a pessimist; but I’m not in his situation, nor do I want to be.
I bless the day of my birth, which is today; well, at least the anniversary of it! Continue reading
The Best Marriage Ever!
We promise not to let our daughters marry the pagan people of the land, and not to let our sons marry their daughters. Neh 10:30
Today is our anniversary!
33 years ago Linda and I became husband and wife at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in the Norwood Community of San Augustine County, Texas.
However, it did not begin there. Continue reading
False Teachers
I know that there are some pseudo-Christians around; a pseudo-Christian being a false Christian. The Bible even speaks about them in 2 Tim 3:5 saying they will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly.
I often read about people quoting from “other” books of the Bible.
There are many “gospels” that you can read these days, Continue reading

What are the odds?
What are the odds that you’ll be mowing your yard when a dually drives by, looses both rear tires on one side, and one of those tires hit your riding lawn mower?
I have no idea. Continue reading
The Cure for Sin
Friday evening, Linda and I participated in the Relay for Life. This is an all night event for cancer survivors and those currently fighting the disease.
Linda and I haven’t done an all-nighter and I doubted this would be the evening to break that trend. Continue reading
