Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
…how he met you on the way and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he did not fear God. Deut 25:18
Two nights ago I awakened at 1 o’clock in the morning.
I couldn’t get back to sleep and became really run down during the day, tired and weary.
As a result my immune system became weak and I am sick with achy all over, sinuses pounding, itchy eyes, and a sore throat.
I know the preventative medicine for this but became a straggler.
I have long believed that drinking water, lots of water, can help fight off allergies and colds.
But I became a straggler and was attacked when I did wasn’t looking.
Though the scripture is specific about Amalek and Israel, I can’t help but feel that it also refers to Satan and us.
He always attacks on our unsuspecting side, when we are straggling and at our most tired, weakest moment.
He does not fear God and that would make him a fool.
He will cause us to become sick in sin.
The preventative is the same for our spirit as it is for the body.
Jesus said, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” John 4:10
I don’t feel like ministering right now.
I feel like going back to bed and pulling the covers over my head.
That’s exactly what Satan would like for us to do in our spiritual life too.
But wellness is found with a drink of living water.
Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14
