I Paid The Price

morning thoughts

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

Good Morning!

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

… not of works… Eph 2:9
I’m on vacation this week (yes, I know… again!) and I’ve been doing some things around the house while Linda works a day and a half.
We’re getting ready for Thanksgiving and with Kimberly moved out we want to make her old room the spare from for Lindsey and Jeff.
We want to make the old spare room the playroom for the grand’s (the children not the biscuits).
So yesterday I moved furniture, cleaned, picked up, set down, scooted, swept, put down an area rug, and installed a satellite dish and receiver at Kimberly’s.
Then helped put up the Christmas tree because the grand’s wanted to.
Today I am paying the price; I’m sore and a little stiff not being use to doing work like that.
There was a time when I did outdoor work and it would not have bothered me but not today.
Let me sit at a computer or program some piece of electronic equipment and I can keep on going.
Let me study my Bible and write a devotion and I will have no problem.
Each of us can be conditioned to some sort of work but still have physical problems when we work outside our laborious comfort zone.
If we had to work for our salvation I don’t think any of us would survive.
What do you think God’s labor standard would be for salvation?
He created the Mosaic Law and the Hebrews couldn’t keep up with it at all.
Only One was able to keep up with the Law and it killed Him!
So take my advice and don’t wear yourself out over working for salvation.
You’ll wake up stiff, sore, and hell-bound in the morning.
… it is the gift of God, Eph 2:8
The price of a gift?
FREE!

  1. I enjoyed. Thanks so much. I think sometimes we try to kill ourselves with the good that we feel we “have” to do but God only wants our works if we WANT to give them.
