The Truth About Lying

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

liarHere’s one for you.
A recent Christian radio talk show featuring a so-called Bible “expert”, who goes by the name The Bible Go-to Guy, says most of us are wrong about the divinity of Jesus because we misinterpret the Bible.
Another guest immediately went into a strong scriptural defense of Jesus in fact being God, citing the very first verse of the Gospel of John in the New Testament.
”I’m just reading it for the words on the page,” he said. “I’m trying to get people to just look at the words on the page without throwing their own spin on things. The Bible says, ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ’ (John 1:1) I take that to mean the Word was God.”
The Bible Go-to Guy responded, “That was a misinterpretation and it should have been ‘and the Word from God.’”
He continued: “In Scripture, it says that the Christ is the firstborn over all creation. (Col 1:15) And then also Christ said of himself, that of  myself, I can do nothing without the Father. And God cannot die. Christ died. God cannot die. It’s impossible. He has lived forever. He cannot die. So God cannot die and Christ can. That was his sacrifice to us.”
The response from the true Bible believer, “This is silliness. He came as a man to die, that was His purpose – to take on our sins. Jesus Himself created the world. The Bible says, ‘without him was not anything made that was made.’” (John 1:3)
”Jesus did not create the world,” said the Bible Go-to Guy. “The world was created through Him. That’s a difference.”

This is what we will see and hear more of in the time that is left. A perversion of the word and it sound like the truth because “theologians” or “experts” tell you that the Bible doesn’t say what you can see with your own eyes it does.
Now I often look at the Greek of the New Testament and the Hebrew of the Old just to see what they do say and I can tell you that what this Go-to guy said was wrong.
It’s a shell game, a slight of hand trick performed by the ruler of spiritual darkness to confuse and disorient those that hear.
Trust me, read your Bible for yourself.
Learn the truth for yourself.

  1. This is why we have to pray for labores. For true beleivers to be available to expound the word other wise the “experts” will. And the labors are everwhere, housewives, blue collar workers, janitors, lunch ladies… Dear Lord help each one of us to be bold in You and sencitive to Your will.
