The Return

redmoon…we can’t even imagine what we will be like when Christ returns . But we do know that when he comes we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 1 John 3:2 NLT

Although it is only mid-February, as I look out my window I see several Robin Red-breast.

It won’t be too long and the purple martin’s will glide in and check out the house.

Then as the first nector filled blossoms of spring open, I’ll see ruby-throated hummingbirds darting back and forth for a drink.

It is the return of spring and all of the things that go with it.

At this time of year I don’t expect a return of orange, yellow, and red leaves falling to the ground.

I don’t expect the first snowflakes, though we did have some one Easter.

I don’t expect to smell turkey and dressing baking in the oven or find Christmas cookies in the cookie jar.

Like the return of birds at spring, Jesus will return in His season.

I am of the belief that He won’t come tomorrow or the next day, or next month, or this summer.

I believe that Jesus fulfills the law and prophets and has fufilled the first four, springtime Jewish feasts with His death, burial, resurrection, and giving of the Holy Spirit thus fulfilling Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, and Pentecost.

That only leaves three more unfulfilled feasts in autumn; the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacle.

Like the return of the robin, Jesus will come back in His time and season to fullfill all that He has said.

Do we know the exact time?

No, but as Jesus said, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour  your Lord is coming.” Matt 24:42
