Changing Lives

I performed a wedding last night for a young lady that I have known most of her life.

There was a time I taught her in Sunday School as she grew uup during her teenage years.

Last night she told me of the impact I made in her life.

She reminded me of the time that I talked about Jesus dying for us; about God giving His only Son.

I said, “I’m afraid I couldn’t do that! I couldn’t give Lindsey or Kimberly (just babies back then), I’d have to give myself instead!”

She spoke up and said, “There’s no way I’d give myself. I’d have to take care of me!”

“Yes,” I replied, “but you don’t have children yet! You’ll change your mind when you do!”

She disagreed.

But the day came when she got married and eventually did have a son of her own and it wasn’t long until she thought about that day and that lesson.

Her response was, “The old man was right!”

She is the second person that has told me of an impact made on their lives just from Sunday School.

No matter what it is you do, you will impact and change someone’s life.

The question is, have you changed it for the better?

Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass.

For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God.

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He. Deut 32:2-4

  1. I think myself selfish when it comes the to Lord. Every thing that happens in my life is a lesson or blessing for me. But I know that is not nessarily true. At times I am to be the blessing to others. And it’s not something I am always to know. It just happens because of my faith and hope in HIM. I’ve even been directed by the Lord to just smile at someone. Olny God knows the empack of that obedience. Obedience bless’ our Lord. May you bless HIM today.
