Do you remember what President Obama said to Joe the plumber during the campaign?
“My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody. If you’ve got a plumbing business, you’re gonna be better off if you’re gonna be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody’s so pinched that business is bad for everybody and I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”
There is an example of spreading the wealth in the Bible.
For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Matt 25:14-15
When you read the whole story you’ll find out that the 5 talent guy gained 5 more and the 2 talent guy gained 2 more. But the guy with 1 just buried it in the sand and returned it as is.
It was told take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. Matt 25:28
In other words – Spread The Wealth.
This is the opposite that the administration would like to do, which is to take from the hard working wealthy and give it to those that have done nothing.
Rather than give we need to follow the Biblical example and invest which is how the 5 & 2 guys doubled their money.
Instead of investing money let’s invest in the kingdom of God by spreading the salvation message.
You, one person, could tell 5 others about Jesus. If those 5 get saved we will have 6 people talking about Jesus.
If those 6 tell 5 others each and those 5 get saved, we will now have 36 people telling others about Jesus.
That seems like a pretty good investment to me so spread the wealth of God’s word.
