Happy Anniversary Wife Of My Youth (and old age)

Yesterday was our anniversary.
Linda and I have been married for 30 beautiful, glorious, wonderful, terrific, adventurous, outstanding years.
As I was standing in line at the store writing a check, when I went to fill in the date.
“What is today,” I said aloud. “Oh, yea, it’s the 4th, my anniversary!”
The checkout lady quickly wished me a happy anniversary and asked how many years.
When I told her 30 she said, “Wow! You just don’t hear any marriages going that long these days!”
To which I replied, “That’s why I got married way back then so it would last to at least 30 years by today!”
It’s easy to be married to Linda for 30. She’s the one that’s had to put up with me.
I could say a lot of great things about my wife but the best is “I love you!”
I know the reason that so many of today’s marriages don’t’ work.
Someone in the relationship hasn’t given heed to Proverbs 5.
Drink water from your own cistern, and running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, And not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth. As a loving deer and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; And always be enraptured with her love. For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, And be embraced in the arms of a seductress? Prov 5:15-20
