A Better Crown Than That

There is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Tim 4:8
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. James 1:12
When the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away. 1 Peter 5:4
Who was Miss America last year?
How about the year before?
I honestly don’t know but I know the name of the young woman, Miss California, who stood up for traditional Godly marriage between a man and woman and lost the Miss America crown.
Her name is Carrie Prejean.
She was recently interviewed by Dr. James Dobson and spoke of her faith and trials in that one moment that cost her the crown.
She knows she could have been PC and walked away a winner but she also realizes that she would have worn a crown of deception for just a single year.
She can hold her head high and proclaim that she stood for virtue and morality.
While she retains her crown and title of Miss California, the state’s pageant officials have virtually removed her from any duties and allowed the first runner up to assume them.
I for one and glad that she answered the question the way she did, which she says was a temptation from Satan to answer politically correctly and win or answer truthfully and lose.
In my opinion, Carrie still has a crown, an everlasting one that will given to her by the ultimate Judge!
