Christian Confrontation

Yesterday evening I happened upon one of the religious channels and noticed Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron talking to people on the street.
Ray was trying to talk to a very confrontational man.
The guy believed he was good, a thought shared by many these days.
Though he admitted that he had lied, stolen, taken God’s name in vain, and had impure thoughts, he maintained his goodness.
He said he was not born in sin like so many others believe they were.
Ray told him that Jesus said, “I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3 NLT
The man said that Jesus was just a man but was a cool man.
He continued to say that if Jesus was here, they’d be best bud’s and would smoke a doobie together. That’s marijuana in case you didn’t know.
He didn’t believe in heaven or hell other than what we have here on earth.
He also kept throwing it up in Ray’s face that he (Ray) believed he would go to hell for doing this or that.
I know that there are these types of people all around us and most of us will never run into such a situation because we are not that bold to be Christian confrontational.
The man went away from that interview lost in his sin but Ray wasn’t called to save him, just tell him about Jesus.
Preach the word of God. Be persistent, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.
For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear. They will reject the truth and follow strange myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at bringing others to Christ. Complete the ministry God has given you. 2 Tim 4:2-5 NLT

  1. Well, at least Ray told him about Jesus, which is what we’re called to do. Seeds were planted, and we can trust in God to send someone to water them, God will bring the increase. I”m certain we’ll come across a lot of people with this attitude. We just persevere and continue being salt and light:)
    God bless you!

  2. Very good thought. It’s hard for me not to get caught up in really wanting to see the end result of wanting them to be saved when I should just make sure I tell them about Him.
