I am intolerant of false doctrine and hard-headed when it comes to the Biblical understanding of salvation.
It is written, For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. 1 Tim 2:5
Jesus said to him, “I am the way , the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
Mind you I am not anti-anything but imagine my surprise when I came upon an article that gave me a link to this.
The following is an excerpt from DOGMATIC CONSTITUTION ON THE CHURCH. LUMEN GENTIUM, SOLEMNLY PROMULGATED BY HIS HOLINESS POPE PAUL VI ON NOVEMBER 21, 1964.
This is from part 16:
Finally, those who have not yet received the Gospel are related in various ways to the people of God. In the first place we must recall the people to whom the testament and the promises were given and from whom Christ was born according to the flesh. On account of their fathers this people remains most dear to God, for God does not repent of the gifts He makes nor of the calls He issues.; But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator. In the first place amongst these there are the Mohamedans, who, professing to hold the faith of Abraham, along with us adore the one and merciful God, who on the last day will judge mankind.
If I am reading this correctly it is basically saying that followers of Islam will be saved, not through the Blood of Jesus but just because they worship the God of Abraham.
This is totally against Biblical teaching.
The 2 verses I started out with this morning are valid Biblical proof that Jesus is the way and not Abraham.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Eph 2:13
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
There can be no tolerance for any doctrine that tries to bring us to God through any other way than Jesus.

Am I surprised by this statement from the Pope? NOPE! The Roman Catholic Church is a false religion and have shown their anti-Semitism for hundreds of years, even killing Jews during the Inquisition, for refusing to convert to Catholicism. Now, we have the current Pope, on his recent trip to Israel, pushing for a “two-state solution.” There are many Christians who believe the RCC will be part of the One World Religion.

What did we have before Jesus, The God of Abraham.

There was nothing before Jesus because of John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
He is the Word from the beginning, before Abraham.
It is written All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev 13:8.
Before the foundation of the world, there was the slain Lamb of God, Jesus.
Ephesians says, He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
