Raiders of the found Ark?

ark…and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail. Heb 9:3-5
Last Friday, a patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia said that he would announce to the world the unveiling of the Ark, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia.
He was talking about THE Ark of the Covenant that the Hebrews carried with them in the wilderness and placed in the Holy of Holies in the Temple.
If it is the genuine article then it should contain the Ten Commandments, Aaron’s rod, and a pot of manna.
Legend says that to protect the Ark, the Ethiopians built many others that look like it and hid them around the country.
I don’t know if this is true or not because someone else says the Ark of the Covenant had been taken to Ethiopia by Menelik, purported son of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon. When Menelik became emperor, he claims royal priests entrusted him with the Ark of the Covenant because King Solomon was slipping into apostasy. A replica was then left behind in Israel.
The Ethiopian royal chronicles suggest that for 3,000 years, they had been guarding the ark, knowing that it had to go back to Israel eventually.
After the Ethiopian civil war, Israel sent in a group of commandos from the tribe of Levi and the carried the Ark onto a plane and back to Israel in 1991, where it is being held there secretly, waiting in the eyes of the religious leaders of Israel, for a supernatural signal from God to rebuild the temple.
I do know that the Ark would be a great archaeological find.
It would give some validation to many things the Bible says.
But even without the genuine Ark, I don’t need validation and I don’t need the Ark; I have Jesus.
When He died the veil, that hid where the Ark would have been, was torn from top to bottom giving me bold access to the Father.
Regardless of what is found, you cannot base your relationship on an artifact.
For by grace you have been saved through faith , and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Eph 2:8
Oh, BTW, the Ethiopian church hierarchy said they would NOT be unveiling the Ark and the world will just have to keep it’s curiosity unsatisfied.
I bet some patriarch feels a little foolish this morning!

  1. No oher validation is needed when we truely have a relationship with Jesus. He is the Word, He is the manna He is the life, He is the heart of God. You’re right brother, nothing else is needed! What happened to the Brass serpent on a rod? And why? What a shame the artifacts of God have to taken away from us.
