We Have Hope

hopeBut I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 1 Thess 4:13-14
I was making my phone calls last night to confirm teachers for church camp, which is 3 weeks away.
I called Deleana and asked how she was doing.
“Well, it’s been a busy year!” she said.
I inquired as to whether or not she was still going to camp.
“No. I lost my eldest daughter back in November. She has 2 children, one born that past May!”
My heart sank and I felt like bursting into tears at the thought of her loss.
But she reassured me that God was taking care of them and it would all be okay.
She went on to say that these babies would be raised knowing who their mother was. (I have a lump in my throat at this time)
I told her that I would be praying for her and would take her name to church tonight.
Then I said, “I don’t know how others could continue on; who have no hope in Jesus!”
She agreed that she didn’t understand that either but was thankful that she (and her daughter) knew Jesus as Savior.
Now I pass this along to you to pray for her as she raises her grandchildren.
And to also remember the Hope you have in Him.
