And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. Rom 13:11
I forgot to wear my watch to church last night so I was a bit lost.
I wasn’t sure if it was time to start the Praise & Worship or if I was early or late.
Penny had on her watch and I took a glance at it but I must have been mistaken; I thought it read 9:15.
Jenny’s said straight up 7 o’clock, time to begin but I had to know about that other watch first.
Indeed it was stopped at 9:15 but she said she kept wearing it as a reminder to get a new battery.
How long has she been doing this?
Six months!
All of us couldn’t help but laugh and we promised to send her a text message today to also remind her to get a watch battery.
On a brighter note; her watch is correct twice a day!
It makes me wonder about God’s timepiece and what it is reading right now.
He doesn’t give a whole lot of clues other than “the time is at hand” (Rev 22:10), “for the day is near” (Ezek 30:3) and “watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.” (Mark 13:33)
That’s not really specific except to say we need to be ready, it’s getting close.
I know God’s clock doesn’t stop, doesn’t need winding or a battery, and won’t wear out over time.
Do we have ten years or twenty?
Will it be in the next five?
Are we going to make it to the end of this year?
Unanswerable questions but I know His alarm clock will go off sooner or later.
Some will be ready; others caught off guard.
Which will you be?
