What Does The Scripture Say? part 3

Another feast that runs with Passover is the Feast of Unleavened Bread; On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the LORD’s Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread. Lev 23:5-6
Paul tells us that a little leaven leavens the whole lump (Gal 5:9) and that leaven is synonymous with sin.
Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Gal 5:7-8
The Mosaic Law stated that no one was to eat leavened bread for 7 days and whoever did would be cut off from the people.
Jesus fulfills this feast by declaring, “I am the bread of life” John 6:48.
This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. John 6:50
Why is it someone can eat the bread which comes down from heaven and not die?
Because you will not be cut off because that Bread (Jesus) had no leaven (sin).
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Matt 26:26
As far as I am concerned, I believe that Jesus also fulfilled the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

  1. do you remember when some man had a best selling book titled “88 reasons why Jesus will return in 1988”? the following year, Zola Levitt, who was a “completed” Jew did a speaking tour titled 89 reasons why Jesus didn’t come back in 1988, or at least I recall that was it. He came to a Church in Nacogdoches and gave that talk. He said at that time that there had been no prophesies unfulfilled that would stop Jesus from returning at any time. So I am of the opinion that HE may come today!
