What Are You Talking About Today?

Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, and lest you go among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, Josh 23:6-7
Are we talking more about “anything else” but God?
Today there will be an Islamic prayer rally on the steps of the Capitol.
Our…OUR…basic rights of Freedom of Religion has granted protection under the Constitution for this group to peacefully assemble and pray.
The same rights under the law have allowed us to start a church and me to pastor it for almost 10 years, and the same may be true about your church also.
And hopefully the message inside our churches is one of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, are we talking about other things that do not edify His name?
What is our subject of conversation outside the church?
Are we making mention of the name of their gods?
Will anyone receive The Salvation by the mentioning of those gods?
Perhaps this is why Paul said, “And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.” 1 Cor 2:1-2

  1. I am always amazed when I study the scriptures. Something I’ve read for years opens up a new truth. We think a glance at the Word and we know all we need to know. Boy! is that a lie. God wil allow us to go deep into His heart if we have the heart for the search. And the treasure we find is worthy of medation and proclamation. I guess those who are not making such procalmatons just have’nt found the treasure. How sad for them.
