Burn-Out (part 2)

I was fascinated by how Jesus used scripture to stop the devil in his temptation.
Though all three came from Deuteronomy, I could not have done it but I want to.
I have discovered the truth about the word of God; that it is by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:16-17
And so I started out writing and using God’s word to prove points, give examples, and show that it is useful and important in everyday life.
But in the years that I have been reading and writing my direction changed.
I wasn’t doing it so much for the glory of God but for “you”!
And “you” do not respond!
“You” give nothing back!
“You” take it or leave it!
“You” can’t even read the end of the year note and let me know if “you” still want to get Morning Thoughts.
I got sick and tired of “you”
“You” began to make “me” feel sorry for “myself”!
And soon it was all about “you” and “me” and not about God!

  1. Morning Thoughts is my nourishment. When I was not receiving it, I felt empty. I understand that I also have a part in keeping it going and promise to do a better job of communicating.

  2. Some are so wrapped up in self that excepting the fact that our lives are all about God’s glory is unexceptable.. Pain & disappointment are excelent weapons against those to stubburn to accept the truth. People can be self disstructive without realizing it. A strugling saint with a surrindered heart will find the ANSWER. The oppisset of course is seperaton for God. Our job is a big one! Patience & prayer. And lots of it. I strive to do unto others as I’d like for them to do to me. All things do come back on us. With the love of Jesus Amen.

  3. I start my day with Morning Thoughts. I draw wisdom and knowledge and practical lessons from each devotion daily. Forgive me for not relaying to you the blessings I recieved and many times were able to share with those whose paths crossed mine each day

I will be more diligent in expressing to you the blessing you are to me and not take you for granted.

  5. I’m glad you’ve had this time of reflection, and have come to the realization that the Sword of the Spirit is the most important part of the Whole Armor of God:) You KNOW that I’ve appreciated your MT’s as I’ve told you many times. I was shocked, when I asked you about them, that I had been only one of about 6 people who had asked about them not going out. At first I thought it was a computer glitch of some sort. However, I do believe you needed a time of refreshing and renewal as you had been doing them on a daily basis for 5 yrs! I’m glad that you’ve been able to express your feelings the past 2 days as now we’ll have a direction to pray for you:) See ya tonight, if the Creek don’t rise, LOL!
Have a very blessed day in the Lord, and rest in His peace and comfort. You WILL be able to get that bathroom completed before Thanksgiving, so don’t sweat it:) If we can help with any of the labor, please let us know. Don’t know how much of the physical stuff either of us could do, but are willing to try.

  6. Hmm PT. I think I get where you are coming from. You started doing the Morning Thoughts to bring understanding to us and glorify the Lord at the same time. Yet, in the second Burn out notice, I get the feeling that you feel you have drifted from the original thought and wrote what you thought we wanted to hear. I want to say, I look forward to the Morning thoughts and I don’t respond to all, but they do make me think of what the Lord has to say. So I hope that you continue to write what the Lord lays on your heart to share with us.
