I’ve been getting up at 3am to do the early morning shift at the radio station.
Though I get off around noon, I’ve been coming home and working on the bathroom, that is, until yesterday.
After work I stopped by Lowe’s and bought the trim with the intent of beginning to install it once I got home.
I unloaded the trim and went into the house for a bite to eat.
My mistake was sitting down to eat.
Once that was done I was done.
So I thought I’d just lie down for a few minutes and rest.
2 hours later I wake up.
I never made it into my homemade construction zone.
But things have been going so smooth and efficiently that I am very confident that the work will be done way ahead of schedule…unless I keep taking afternoon naps.
I want to give God the honor and glory for the way the work has been going.
With that I give you this verse for today, now I can rest again, for the LORD has been so good to me. Ps 116:7
I had an unexpected day off from work last week and I filled it with my plans. Like you, the Lord knew I needed a physical rest and I ended up sleeping most of the day away. I have to add that I was physically fighting the flu and the Lord gave a healing rest to my body.
Praying the bathroom will be finished in due time.
At times when I look out my windows and see all the work that needs to be done I feel overwhelmed. My health, and absence of equipement makes me feel bad. Then I’ll set on the front porch listening to the birds, and watching the squirrels play. I realize I live a quiet life. For the most part my life is even peaceful. I love the country. I do wish our place looked better kept, but it is ours. There is rest from that strugle. Setting in my rocking chair on the porch just listening to the sounds of life gives me peace and rest. Take it where you can get it and thank God for it!
God knew what you needed:) The work will get done ahead of time, and you won’t be burning the candle at both ends AND in the middle 🙂
