Have you noticed how many endless up grades there are?
Let’s quickly look at the history of pc’s since I’ve owned one.
My first was a fast little booger; 50 MHz (megahertz) with 4 meg’s of ram running Windows 3.1.
It was fine for word processing and doing homework but not much more. The Internet was new and known as the Information Superhighway.
I eventually upgraded the memory to 32 meg’s and thought I was in tall cotton.
A faster computer came with Windows 98se; I think I may have upgraded the pc to a 500 MHz but don’t remember the memory. (No pun intended)
By this time email and surfing the net was becoming more popular and easier to get.
Everyone had dialup though the city was faster. Out where I live it was a slow as molasses in January!
Windows 2000 was next but I decided to sit this one out hearing that a new OS (operating system) was on the way called XP.
I upgraded my pc once more to a 1.2 GHz (gigahertz) with 1 gig of ram to handle XP professional.
This was a fine machine; fast and smooth.
Still dialup slowed things to a crawl.
Click on a link and go get a cup of coffee, wash some clothes, paint the house and then return to the pc. Oh, it’s almost through loading the page!
I upgraded once more to satellite internet since DSL or cable is not offered in the area.
I finally upgraded the big bulking 17” monitor for a 19” flat screen.
This is what I have been using for several years.
The computer is showing signs of age and so once again I have upgraded to a 2.7 GHz with 6 gig’s of ram running Windows 7.
All these upgrades may give me more speed and smoother transitions but its put my money into someone else’s pockets over the years.
Aren’t you glad God did it right the first time and gave Jesus with NO UPGRADE NEEDED! For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all Rom 6:10 …for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. Heb 7:27 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all. Heb 9:12 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Heb 10:10 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. Jude 3
Once for all…that’s salvation.
Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade…that’s everything else!
