No Power?

What would you do without electricity?
I thought about that question while watching one of those doom & gloom end of the world documentaries the other night.
There is speculation that a strong enough solar flare our direction could disrupt the electrical grid for the planet for 3 or 4 years.
Of course the key word is speculation.
Even though everyone on the earth once survived without it, I have never lived in a world without electricity.
That would be a step backwards.
On Aug. 20, 1882, electricity began flowing to paper mills and a handful of homes within a one-mile radius of the first electrical plant in Wisconsin; two weeks later Wall St. and neighboring sections of New York City were lit by the world’s second electrical generating plant.
Can you imagine a world without electrical lights, email, cell phones, television, or computers?
There will be no radio and I would be out of a job.
Despite the advances we have made to bring us where we are now with all these wonderful things, I believe many Christians are still living, metaphorically speaking, in the dark!
It is written, therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power. 2 Thess 1:11
With power!
That’s the power of the Holy Spirit working in each believer that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thess 1:12
It’s nice to know that the ability to preach, teach, pray, read, and witness is not dependent upon the current electrical grid.
Even without electricity, the word of God would go on!

  1. What is there that God did not creat? If the hand of God had not been on it electricity. cars, computers, sky scrapers, ect would not excite. Nor would enter peace! It is the Holy Spirit that guides ours steps. Wheather it’s into and invention or smiply our daily walk No matter if it is light or dark, happiness or sorry. Thank God. He is always there.
