Bad Choices – 1

And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD. Gen 13:10-13
I have made some bad choices in my life.
I praise God that I lived through each one.
Every decision I made, I made alone.
I cannot blame peer-pressure because I had the choice to say “No” and walk away.
It is written that each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:14-15
Lot chose his path because of the water and the land.
Perhaps he thought he could resist the exceedingly wicked and sinful people that also lived in the area.
But that was not going to be the case.

One thought on “Bad Choices – 1

  1. We could not have a better more turthful example of life than the Bible! But it seems we must learn for ourselves (the hard way). Thank God He is patient, and loving enough to continue to teach us over and over until we get it. “Line upon line.”
