I remember the commercial that said that no one grows up planning to be a junkie.
How true that is!
I don’t know of a child alive down in Linda’s pre-K class that’s planning on being hooked on drugs.
Likewise, none are planning on becoming adulterers, murderers, or even alcoholics.
Many parents are raising them to do just that!
You know that Bible encourages us to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Prov 22:6
It’s the parents that are often training them to be dope addicts, unfaithful spouses, and drunks.
It is also written in God’s word, these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deut 6:6-7
Many times parents leave any spiritual education up to the church and that just isn’t sufficient enough.
Of course, I know children raised in a God-fearing home and taken to church by their parents that still pursued a worldly way.
That’s because it is also up to the child to decide on the path to take.
Remember our Thoughts on Lot, how he chose the fertile, green, well-watered Jordan River valley and set up camp close to Sodom and Gomorrah.
You remember how that turned out?
The young men that have been accused of burning these churches can come up with all kinds of excuses for their actions.
Ultimately each of them is responsible for their own action.
The Bible says we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 2 Cor 5:10
So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Rom 14:12
There is no one to blame before God but ones self.
