God Gives Four Ways To Better Health

Here is what God says, “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.” Ex 15:26
This tells us that there are 4 things that need to be done.
First, heed the voice of the Lord your God.
How do you know what God is saying?
The Holy Spirit lives inside of each believer; do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Cor 3:16
When the Holy Spirit speaks to you, He will never contradict what God has said in His written word!
So listen carefully and pray for discernment as Solomon prayed, “that I may discern between good and evil.” 1 Kings 3:9
Second, do what is right in His sight.
This is where we draw the line with God because He just doesn’t know how things are anymore!
He’s out of touch with humanity!
Things have changed since He said that!
Hogwash!
Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun. Eccl 1:9 what is happening today has happened before.
And it is written, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isa 55:8-9
God knows more about what is happening with you today than you do!
He has already seen it!
Yet more and more we are allowing humanism to wipe out the memory of God and are being told that Christianity is intolerable and bigoted of everyone else.
What is right in God’s sight?
He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Mic 6:8
The third thing is to give ear to His commandments.
Again, we have failed. I believe this deals less with following the commandments and more with studying them, thus the phrase “give ear”.
Reading and studying God’s word with an open heart and mind can only lead to salvation.
Salvation then leads to the desire to please Him who gave Himself for us.
That brings us to number four, keep all His statutes.
That does not bring us back under the Mosaic Law, for you are not under law but under grace. Rom 6:14
We are not working for salvation!
We are not working to gain favor with God!
But you strive to keep His statutes so that a work is done in you; to make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, Heb 13:21
When these four things are accomplished then God promises something truly wonderful.
And I will look at that next time.
