Will God Make Everything OK?

Saturday night we had a Dinner & A Movie.
The movie was Flywheel produced by the same Georgia church that did Facing The Giants and Fireproof.
All 3 movies have a central them of trusting God and He will make everything ok.
I know a pastor that didn’t like Facing the Giants and I’m sure he would not have liked Saturday night’s movie.
He believes the movie shows that if we just pray and turn to God that everything will turn around; that you’ll win football games or, as in the case of Flywheel, your business and marriage will prosper.
But is this the truth of the Bible?
Let’s find out.
One verse that came up in the movie was Prov 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
This is what the Bible says but does it have anything to do with making everything ok?
Yes, it does.
When we honor God He says that He will bless us.
It is written “bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” Mal 3:10
That’s God’s word; that’s God’s promise.
He challenges us to “try Me now in this”.
When we trust in the Lord with all our heart then He will give us the very best, the most; exactly what we need.
What we often fail to do is acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus.
Sure, He is our Savior but is He Lord of our lives?
I personally believe that this Georgia church has a keen scriptural insight into living a Godly life and being blessed.
I think they also have a keen insight in dishonoring God and a life falling apart and heading for ruin.

  2. I like the premise but don’t think that it is all good. I have never believed in the “Name it and claim it” theory. I haven’t seen the movie, I do own Facing the Giants but haven’t seen it yet. But! It is good to have you back!

  3. I have seen Facing The Giants and Fireproof and thought them very good and enjoyable. However, life is not simple nor is it supposed to be. Good things do happen to bad people and bad things do happen to good people. How we react and trust are the measure of one’s faith. God is not a genie, benefactor of wealth and health though He does provide them.
Anyway, I enjoyed the thoughts and the responses.
