Let's Reconsider

I saw where someone made the statement that the problem with our country is with the president; only they used a racial slur to describe him.
I will strongly disagree.
The problem is not with the president.
He was elected by a majority of the people so the problem must be with the electorate.
President Obama is doing pretty well what most conservatives said he would do.
I am not surprised at the direction the country is going, but I am disappointed.
Our nation is no different than Israel in the days of Samuel.
Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, and said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.” 1 Sam 8:4-5
They didn’t want to follow the rule of God; they wanted a king, just like the other nations.
Our nation has also rejected God’s statutes and commandments.
We have torn down the ancient landmarks, though God’s word says; do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set. Prov 22:28
You will never be able to legislate morality and virtue by laws or from the bench.
It must be a change on the inside of each of us.
This is what God told Israel; Consider your ways! “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink;
You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”
Thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the LORD.
Hag 1:5-8
It’s time to reconsider our ways.

  1. I totally agree with you Pastor Tim. The people of our nation need to change their ways and stop pointing fingers…but look into their own hearts for the answers to our nations problems.

  2. From my understanding of the Scriptures all that is happening was for told. We have entered into a different era. Our prayer must be with inlightenment, discernment. No man is the enimy, not even a president we so disagree with. Scripture says our enimy is princepalities and powers in high places. The best way to know how to pray is to study the scriptures. The answers are in there!
