Willful Sin Has No Sacrifice

I run into some “Christians” from time to time, that believe it is okay to sin because they can just repent of that sin later and have forgiveness.
So let’s get this straight; you’re at a crossroads to sin or not to sin.
The choice is yours to make.
You know you should do the right thing but temptation is strong, it won’t hurt anybody, and in the back of your mind, you can ask God to forgive you later.
This is now a premeditated sin because it has been thought out.
It’s not impulse, though you’ve always thought you could ask for forgiveness later about anything.
This is willful sin, a subject the Bible does address.
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Heb 10:26
This verse tells me that if you sin willfully you cannot get forgiveness; there is no longer a sacrifice for sins.
If there is no sacrifice for the sin then there is no forgiveness because without shedding of blood there is no remission. Heb 9:22
No sacrifice, no shedding of blood.
No shedding of blood, no remission.
No remission, no forgiveness of sin.
You’ve backed yourself into a corner over willful sin.
What can you expect now?
A certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Heb 10:27
It goes on to say that those that sinned under the Mosaic Law were only put to death.
It will be far worse for those that have trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace. Heb 10:29
When you think, “I can sin because the blood of Jesus has cleansed me from all unrighteousness” you are calling the blood of Jesus a common thing to be used at your discretion.
How wrong is that?
It is written, shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Rom 6:1-2
A major problem with willful sin is the company you keep.
This is why I believe church fellowship is so very important.
I have seen those that have fallen out of church and fallen out of grace.
Those that were once praising and praying are now living in adultery, cursing, drinking, and hiding their light under a basket; bringing shame to the name of Jesus.
Do not be deceived:”Evil company corrupts good habits.”Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. 1 Cor 15:33-34
Repent, pray, read the Word, and stay in church!

  1. I fear the majority of “Christians” are this way. They do not know that God is Sovereign and will hold each accountable for himself. Nor do they realize the PRICE paid at Calvary.
