Why I Am On FB

Why am I on Facebook?
Why do I subject myself and my computer to viruses and Trojans unknowingly sent from one of my “friends” page?
Why am I placing myself at risk for privacy issues?
Why would I be friends with those that use bad language, get drunk, or post inappropriate material?
It is another place to let the light of Christ shine!
Facebook is the missionary field for today!
I don’t see others that do contrary things as problems; I see them as potential.
Perhaps they need a friend that will say, “God loves you! Jesus wants to help you!”
Maybe, just maybe they’ll see my post on Sunday morning saying, “I’m off to church” and desire to get up and go too.
Take a look at what Paul subjected himself to; For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law(not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 1 Cor 9:19-22
Why did he become so many things to so many people?
I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. 1 Cor 9:23
There are so many places to share the Gospel; jails, schools, countries, social network sites, blogs, websites, TV, radio, in politics, and the list goes on and on.
There are just too many places for anyone to be and so each must choose where he/she must minister.
I minister in the church, on the radio, on a blog, and on Facebook.
I minister wherever I am in public.
Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Col 3:17

  1. good message Pastor Tim! I too use FB to show the Love of Christ. Most of my friends on FB are Christians but as you know, we cannot be “all things to all men” if we aren’t present on the media that people use.

  2. That is well and good. However, I know of 2 people who are addicted to playing the games on FaceBook, and are doing nothing to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One of them you know, who started the All in 1 Accord message board, which, as you know, is a place where prayer requests can be made, and praise reports to answers to our prayers can be posted. So, it’s really a double-edged sword, but not like the Sword of the Spirit. These 2 people, who were regular posters on One Accord, have not posted since November, and there have been a lot of prayer requests that could have used their added prayers and support. I’m thankful that you see it as a way to share the Gospel with others. Just my thoughts about it:)
