Righteousness Exalts A Nation

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. Prov 14:34
When I was young I learned and recited such patriotic writings and songs like the Preamble to the Constitution, America (My Country Tis of Thee), The Gettysburg Address, The Star Spangled Banner, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Though I may have recited these things, they remained mostly meaningless to me.
But I have discovered the older I get the more I respect and appreciate those that moved forward in the cause of liberty so that I may learn things that are meaningless or meaningful to me.
The great writings of the Founders of our nation reveal, without doubt, that they were true defenders of freedom.
Most of the signers of the Declaration died penniless, having all stripped from them by the British tyrants bent on holding this land captive.
Our great land is once again held captive by godless politicians and bureaucrats bent on personal power and monetary gain at the cost of liberty, freedom, and this great nation.
Patriot Patrick Henry said, “It is when people forget God that tyrants forge their
chains.”
It would seem to me I hear the beating of an anvil in the blacksmith of slavery.
Founding Father and our First Secretary of Treasury, Alexander Hamilton said, “I have carefully examined the evidences of the Christian religion, and if I was sitting as a juror upon its authenticity I would unhesitatingly give my verdict in its favor. I can prove its truth as clearly as any proposition ever submitted to the mind of man.”
John Adams’ wife Abigail once wrote, “”A patriot without religion in my estimation is as great a paradox as an honest Man without the fear of God. Is it possible that he, whom no moral obligations bind, can have any real Good Will towards Men? Can he be a patriot who, by an openly vicious conduct, is undermining the very bonds of Society?….The Scriptures …tell us “righteousness exalteth a Nation.”
It seems our nation is going against the very foundations of those that fought to bring this nation into existence.
God will preserve our nation when our nation preserves God!

Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward. Isa 1:4

  1. Alas tis all to true. History tells us that persicution will cause rebellion. We’ve forgotten our roots. Our tolerance has luled us near to sleep. The saints are awakening. With the Spirit stirring within us to find and hold the Truth dear! Seeing what is being done to our children produces a righteous anger. Our emeny has awakened and stired the lamb that is now roaring. Our land was founded on Christ! We are one nation under God!!!
