Plea Deal

Yesterday morning at 9am I had jury duty in San Augustine.
I arrived in town about 15 minutes early, parked, and made my way to the temporary court located in the old theatre museum, while the courthouse is being renovated.
I always try to be a prompt person.
A preacher once told me, “If you’re not 15 minutes early; you’re late!”
I’ve try to take that too heart so I arrived early.
9 o’clock rolled around and nothing started.
10 minutes later lawyers were still walking around, the judge wandered around, and other potential jurors were still just arriving.
At 920, I was beginning to wonder if we were going to start.
Finally the judge made an announcement, apologizing for the delay and asking us to be a bit more patient.
I sat next to a friend and talked the whole time so I wasn’t bored.
There was lots of discussion going on in chambers.
They had a young man in there that I perceived to be the defendant.
Finally at 10am the judge came out and thanked us for our service, which has been fulfilled and would no longer be needed.
I can only assume that a plea deal was reached.
It may have been that the defendant saw all of us ready to listen and fairly, impartially, and without bias judge him and that he decided to plea out.
I’ve done the same exact thing.
I plead out!
You see, I read it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, Heb 9:27
Judgment before God; I don’t think I would do to well.
So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. Heb 9:28
That’s my plea deal; JESUS!
[God] has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead. Acts 17:31
Again, that’s my plea deal; JESUS!
But if you do sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who pleases God completely. He is the sacrifice for our sins. He takes away not only our sins but the sins of all the world. 1 John 2:1-2 NLT
Again, that’s my plea deal: JESUS!
Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save everyone who comes to God through him. He lives forever to plead with God on their behalf. Heb 7:25 NLT
Plea yourself out before judgment!
JESUS PLEAS FOR YOU!

  1. When I begin to think I’m not good enough, I’ve done so wrong, I’m reminded it is Jesus that has cleansed me! There is only His good in me, and that’s what the Father sees. There is a cleansing fire that will try our deeds – thats a bit scary. And the possible words, why didn’t you truse Me more to get you through? Truely if is a terrable thing to fall into the hands of the living God!
