It has to be the most hilarious story that I’ve heard in a while.
A few weeks ago the radio station had an event for pet adoption and awareness at the local animal shelters.
My coworker, Nila, joined me at one and it didn’t take her long till she was holding an adorable little cat named Conner.
Conner ate up the attention and Nila became consumed by his need for love and a scratch behind the ear; but she had promised her husband that she would not bring home an extra mouth to feed, even one as small as Conner’s.
But before the week’s end, Nila and Sherman were back at the shelter to adopt Conner as their very own.
She posted pictures on Facebook; told stories of Conner and their other pets friendship with each other.
Then yesterday things changed.
Nila took the cats to the vet, who came out of the examination room with some news about Conner.
“How do you feel about Connie?” he asked.
You guessed it; even though the shelter listed “him” as Conner and indicated that he had been neutered, he was a she!
I believe that God created us male and female as it states in His word and certainly there is a difference between men and women when it comes to how we think, act, or each one’s wants, desires, and needs.
For years feminists have sought equality in the genders in employment, the military, even breaching into male dominated sports.
However, men and women will never be equal mentally or physically.
There will always be enough differences to keep us from being totally equal.
But God has made male and female equal in Christ.
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:26-28
Isn’t it great to know that there are not separate requirements of salvation for men and women?
All are equally forgiven in Christ Jesus our Lord!
