Where does judgment begin?
The word of God tells us; for the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17
Judgment begins “in house” and since your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, (1 Cor 6:19) then it begins in you (and me).
But let a man examine himself. 1 Cor 11:28
A reminder that Jesus said if we would remove the plank from our own eyes, we would then see clearly to remove the speck from our brother’s eye. (Matt 7:3-5)
Again, it begins with self.
As you judge yourself, your judgment of others will change.
Judgment will become less condemning and more encouraging.
You and I are not here to condemn the world; For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17
How can Christians help others without a little bit of judgment?
German writer, Johann Von Goeth said, “Don’t judge anyone harshly until you yourself have been through his experiences.”
That’s a good rule of thumb.
You don’t know what is going on in someone’s life that may have brought them to this point.
Next time I’ll have the final say on judging others. It may have a surprise ending.
