The Little Things

Then he became very thirsty; so he cried out to the LORD and said, “You have given this great deliverance by the hand of Your servant; and now shall I die of thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?” Judg 15:18
Why is it we believe God can do great and mighty but not small and simple?
Samson had just killed 1000 with the jawbone of a donkey a feat that could not be accomplished without the power of God upon him.
He clung, he swung, he lunged, he swiped, he hit, and he fought hard.
We don’t know how long it took but even at 1 man a second it would have taken over 16 minutes.
After it was all over Samson was extremely thirsty and complained to God that even though he was victorious, he would die of thirst.
God provided water for Samson from the same source that he provided victory over the 1000 men.
God can use anything; God can do anything.
Next time God does something huge and marvelous for you, remember that he can also handle the little every day things too!

  1. Life is a proving ground (bootcamp). We graduate when we arrive there with Him. Thank God our testing is with small stuff. And He loves us through our failures. Once we’ve accomplished the small we are moved on to bigger, like a weight lifter. Didn’t He teach something about how if we can be trusted with the small stuff He’d give us more? Matthew 25 What would become of us if we were not exercised?
