Don't Get Stuck

I can just imagine the conversation.
A cell phone rings; “Hello” is the answer.
“Roy this is Wilbur! Are you busy?”
“Not really! What’s up?”

“I was driving down by the lake when I got stuck!”
“Why sure I can pull you out. Their ain’t nothing my 4X4 Chevy can’t pull out. I ain’t never got her stuck. Heck! There ain’t a mudhole around that can stop me! Sit tight, I’ll have you out in a few minutes!”
Famous last words!
Everybody driving on Hwy 103 towards Lufkin saw this site yesterday.
I have no idea who owns either truck and I meant no offense by my imaginative conversation.
I’m sure the driver of pickup #2 really had good intentions that he could pull his friend out.
But it didn’t work.
And the tow truck also buried up.
Each of us trusts others to help us; you trust doctors and pharmacists when you’re sick.
You trust a dentist (somewhat) when you have a toothache, your broker to look out for you financially and so on.
But who do you trust when it comes to a spiritual problem?
Many people are trusting pseudo-prophets and false ministers with their eternal life and death.
Would you want to be operated on by someone that never went to medical school or never did residency?
Neither would you want to trust your eternal soul to someone that doesn’t have a relationship with Jesus.
Jesus asked the question, “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?” Luke 6:39
When it comes to Godly things you need to find someone that not only knows Jesus as Savior, but lives it!
Don’t get stuck!
Jesus CAN pull you out!

  1. A friend of mine stepped into a sink hole, up to her shoulders. Her little daughter had to leave her mom to run for help. Just hearing about it tore me up. Later on I stepped into a sink hole swollowed my leg up to my hip. I couldn’t get out on my own. Thank God my husband was with me. Thank God the foot steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord. Jesus said, “seek and ye shall find”. The Gospel is being presented every day. It is up to the hearer to seek understanding of it. To many want only what feels good at the time not realizing the Word is eternal. Jesus is a present help, but not just in hard times. He’s with us allways to help keep us on the right path. Thank You Lord!
